The Guardians began as a midnight offering — created at our studio in the small hours of a sleepless night, and pieced together by hand like a little prayer made of paper wings.

At the heart of our design are the enchantingly beautiful angels from artist Edward Burne-Jones’ The Days of Creation series, collaged together in to a sweeping procession, their feathered wings folded around them, and each with a world cradled in their arms. 

We added a velvety night sky and a crescent moon from an 1800’s celestial lithograph, and wild branches and vines taken from a 17th century Italian pastoral etching. 

The trim features a vintage William Morris golden floral pattern, interwoven with stars borrowed from an antique Victorian book cover. 

The resulting print is our tribute to the mystery and tenderness of unseen guardians, and to the acts of grace that hold us up when we falter. 

Whether you believe in divine messengers or the strength we find in each other, The Guardians is a reminder that we never walk alone.

Please note: The nature of our viscose means it’s slightly sheer, so we recommend wearing a full or half-slip with this style. 

100% viscose (derived from plant fibres such as wood and bamboo).
